"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths" (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

THINK REVERSE

The old adage “slain in the spirit” is both contradictory and erroneous.
The Holy Spirit brings life and restoration.
The term “slain” points to death and destruction.

Interestingly, Pentecostal/Charismatic theology applies, in diametric contradiction to its claims, the exact opposite of every Scripture passage it employs to justify itself. Up is down and life is slain for charismatics. As if they had everything backwards. Charismatics try to base the falling phenomena on scripture passages, yet none fit, because involuntary falling only occurs when a person comes under God's judgment. So applying it to anointing is quite absurd.

When Paul fell on his way to Damascus he fell under God’s judgment. Yet Paul’s conversion is a favorite charismatic explanation for the practice they call “slain in the spirit”. Except the Holy Spirit convicted Paul and didn’t anoint him. Paul’s anointing came days later, when the apostles prayed over him. Of course there is no record of Paul falling backward when the apostles laid their hands on him.
