"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths" (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

RING AROUND THE ROSIE WE ALL FALL DOWN

"With a one-two-three. The King has sent his daughter, To fetch a pail of water. ah-tishoo, ah-tishoo. We all fall down."

The Charismatic definition of Slain in the Spirit refers to being knocked down by the Holy Spirit. Charismatics believe this to happen when some “spirit filled” or “anointed” charismatic lays hands on them. There appears no “Slain in the Spirit” in the Bible. Being slain however appears 183 times referring to either animals or people getting killed.

But when an “anointed” charismatic leader lays his hands on people, a substantial number FALLS DOWN. Hmmm.

Obviously Jesus was not an "anointed" or a "charismatic' - certainly not in the way today's charismatics understand it.

There is no record of a Catholic mystic getting “Slain in the Spirit”. There is no such thing in the Holy Bible or in Catholic Tradition either. There is no record of an Old Testament prophet or Jesus or any of the apostles falling backward or causing someone else falling backward! Why IS that? Wasn't Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit? WHEN JESUS LAID HIS HANDS ON PEOPLE NOBODY FELL DOWN! In fact those confined to a bed GOT UP and walked away. Are the charismatics more spirit filled than Jesus?
