WHAT IS the OCCULT?
Most people have no idea just how much occult practice have invaded our world. For the most part, occult means Satanism and other dark arts and people would never associate occult with a friendly health practitioner or a Catholic priest or a nun. When you do a search on the definition of the occult, you get a hodgepodge of seemingly unrelated impressions rather than a clearly defined answer; so what is it? What is the occult? Indeed many, many practices and belief systems fit under the occult umbrella and none of which originated with God. But where did these occult practices and belief systems came from? If not from God, it had to have come from the devil. Most of these beliefs rely on some sort of energy source, one that can be accessed, changed, channelled or manipulated; from gaining information, to healing, and to acquiring a wide variety of things into the material reality. This energy could be part of the natural world, but if it’s acquired supernaturally it is still occult practice. Religious beliefs of occultism can range from pantheism, polytheism, monism, to variations on Gnosticism. There can be a belief in spirits, nature’s forces, the spirit world, or the paranormal powers of the mind. The three major forms of the occult are spirit contact, divination and magic. There is always the denial of absolute good or evil. Historically, occult practices included worshipping false gods as well as human sacrifices. Present day occult practices claim to be for our own good, whatever that is. Occult practices, be they from good intentions or not, are strongly condemned by God.
